Construction Parking Information

October 26, 2025 Update

It’s all done! All parking spots are now accessible again. Mind the dip as you drive through the alley.

September 13, 2025 Update

The concrete curbs are halfway done, and the alley is prepared for paving. That means we’ve got a four-inch high sharp edge of asphalt at the end of the parking lot. We do not recommend crossing the alley to park, except for the one handicapped spot that is open. Four vehicles can park along Riverside Ave in the cutout, and there is street parking around the building. All others will need to park in the west parking lot and walk across the rubber mats to reach the church. Please watch your step as the ground is uneven under the mats.

We expect the next round of curbs to go in starting Monday, September 15. It may not be possible to cross the alley at all until that is finished.

September 5, 2025 Update

Construction will begin in the alley this coming week, with pouring of concrete curbs expected to begin on Tuesday, September 8. In preparation for this, workers have placed stakes along the alley. If you’re going to park in the east lot, be prepared to navigate around the stakes. The biggest gap is on the north end of the lot, so it will be necessary to drive up the alley a bit to get in. Only one of the handicapped parking spots is accessible at present.

The easiest place to park remains the west lot directly off of 1st Ave N.

August 24, 2025 Update

Both sections of the parking lot are now accessible, and the alley can be crossed by cars. It is still gravel and dips down below parking lot level, but cars can cross it with caution. The two handicapped spots closest to the main entrance are now available!

The construction crew has placed rubber mats across the alley for foot traffic. Please watch your step as the ground is somewhat uneven, especially after rainfall.

August 9, 2025 Update

The alley has now been graded and is drivable. If you would benefit from parking closer to the building, feel free to drive carefully over the alley (it has a dip!) and park in the east lot next to the building. Otherwise, please continue to park on the west side of the alley and walk over until the alley reconstruction is complete.

June 10, 2025 Update

The new sewer line has been installed, but there’s more work to be done north of the church. The construction crew has done a great job getting us access to the building as quickly as possible after digging. We are still using the foot bridge to cross over to the church. The parking lot is accessible for VBS pickup and dropoff. See previous updates below.

May 28, 2025 Update

Due to construction work in the alley that runs through our parking lot, only the west (back) lot is available for cars. In order to allow cars to turn around in the lot, we are asking people to leave the last two spots in the middle row empty.

Unfortunately, the construction trench is blocking access to our handicapped parking next to the church. Getting in will require a short walk across a temporary access bridge that is wheelchair accessible.

If the parking lot is full, there are spots available on the streets around the church. We can also accommodate three or four cars in the cutout located directly off of Riverside Ave N.
